Hector Hernandez, LEED AP

President

Hector Hernandez, LEED AP, President of South Florida Controls, directs all aspects of the company’s strategy, growth, and territory expansion. He co-founded South Florida Controls in 2000, and his leadership has greatly contributed to the company’s success over the last two decades. In 2021, Hector became a Partner at Fidelity Building Services Group (Fidelity BSG) when South Florida Controls joined Fidelity BSG’s portfolio of companies. 

Hector’s industry experience spans over 20 years. He received a Master’s in International Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University’s School of Business and Entrepreneurship. He also earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and HVAC from Florida International University and a Mechanical Engineer degree from the Superior Learning Institute in Havana, Cuba. Hector continued his education at York International, where he received training in HVAC controls and building automation, total quality management, sales and marketing for international engineering sales, and strategic planning process training.  

In addition to his leadership role at South Florida Controls, Hector sits on the Board of Directors of CUBE USA, a solution that supports controls teams with labor forecasting, schedule management and encompasses a full spectrum of CRM tools that allow a team to communicate and manage projects from sales to completion. He is a Master Electrician, Certified Energy Manager, and LEED Accredited Professional. Hector is also fluent in Spanish, which is his first language.

 

Christopher Ramos

VICE PRESIDENT

As Vice President of South Florida Controls (SFC), Christopher Ramos is responsible for business growth, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with key partners, including customers, vendors, and Team Members. Christopher also oversees internal operations, helps maximize operating performance and executes strategies that will meet SFC’s financial and business goals.

Christopher joined the SFC family in 2019 and over the course of his 15 years of industry experience, has been recognized by his peers for his work in the Mechanical/HVAC market, including winning the Siemens President Club Award for being a top performer. He was also named Vice Chair to the Associated Builders and Contractors Miami-Dade Council, a position he holds proudly.

A graduate of Florida International University, Christopher received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management. Christopher is also OSHA-30 certified and holds a certificate in HVAC Design.
